What is the minimum age of a child who can use Talked?

Children aged 7 years and up are eligible to use Talked’s services. At this age, they generally have the verbal skills needed to engage effectively in telehealth sessions, allowing our psychologists to provide meaningful support.

A parent or guardian must be present during sessions for children under 13 years old, as their presence can help facilitate engagement and comfort. For adolescents aged 13 and older, sessions may be more effective with increased independence, though this can be tailored based on individual needs and the psychologist’s guidance.

If you need support for a child under 7, please contact our team, we can assist in providing referral pathways to appropriate services for younger children.
