How to connect your Zoom account
If you prefer to use your own personal Zoom instead of the Talked video platform then you can follow this guide to set it up.
Important notice - The free version of Zoom only allows for 40 minute sessions and is not HIPAA compliant. We only recommend using your own Zoom account if you are on the paid version.
Update your settings to Zoom
Please note that these changes only apply to new bookings. Any bookings placed before you switched to Zoom will still use the Talked video platform.
- Visit your Settings page
- Scroll down to the 'Default Video Platform' setting.
- Change the option to 'Zoom - my personal account'
-
Enter your Zoom details and click Save. If you are unsure where to find your details read the instructions below.
-
We recommend turning on "Waiting room" setting in your Zoom account, so that you can control when your clients enter the session. Read below to see how to do that.
How do I find my personal Zoom link, ID and Passcode?
- Sign in to the Zoom website.
- Click Meetings, then Personal Room.
How do I turn on a client waiting room?
We recommend enabling the waiting room option in Zoom so that you can control when clients can join your video sessions. You can do this by:
- Sign in to the Zoom website.
- Click Settings
How do your clients attend a session via Zoom?
Your client can simply click the "Join Zoom Session" button on the session detail page and from their confirmation emails.
Why do I need to use my own personal Zoom account?
Zoom does not provide the ability for us to create video sessions automatically for each therapist and each session, so this is the best way we can integrate Zoom into your account. Once you've connected Zoom all the "Join" buttons throughout Talked will point to your Zoom meeting room.
